The Best Running Clubs In Chicago for Runners Who Love Beer

If our #ThisIsBeerFit Instagram challenge taught us anything, it’s that individuals all around America are embracing the BeerFit lifestyle and balancing their runs with a good, cold beer. That’s why we’re excited to bring another round of celebrating our wins with beer to Chicago’s Harlem Park on June 11, 2016.

Casual runners and athletes alike can pick from two course options: a competitive 5k, and our signature Brew Mile race. Or, if you’re truly badass, you can do both! But whatever you pick, we know the motivation behind your choice: the beer past the finish line.

To help runners in the area find their BeerFit community before we get there, we’ve rounded up the best Chicago-based running groups that believe in cooling down with a nice, cold beer.

Running for Brews Chicago

The term ‘fun run’ is subjective, but when you team up with Running for Brews Chicago, it seems like a given. The social running club is for anyone who enjoys getting out and breaking a sweat amongst the company of other fellow runners — then topping it off with an awesome craft brew, and some great conversation. All levels are welcome. Follow them on Meetup to discover future group runs.

Chicago Hash House Harriers

This ‘drinking club with a running problem’ meets on Monday nights and weekends to simultaneously promote physical fitness, as well as acquire a good thirst (by running) and to satisfy it in beer. Hashing is more than a workout, but not quite a race — it’s really something you need to experience yourself. After ‘the hash,’ runners meet at various watering holes for a post game drink. Fleet Feet Fun Runs

Fleet Feet Sports lists ‘10 Reasons to Fun Run’ on their website, and while we think staying motivated, having fun, and meeting new runners are great reasons to run, we can’t help but stay partial to Rule #5: ‘Pint night is the third Monday of every month!” Join Fleet Feet for Pint Night (a group run that ends at a bar) or any of their other social, sweaty gatherings for a good time without giving up your training.
